In the heart of one of Rome’s oldest district, the Anna Marra Gallery hosted, from September 25 to October 31st, 2025, the exhibition “Paura della solitudine” (Fear of Solitude) by Mirko Leuzzi, curated by Vittoria Mascellaro.
The project explores solitude not as exclusion, but as an ambivalent emotional condition — a quiet presence that inhabits even our closest relationships, often born from the feeling of not being truly seen.
As part of the Cultural Explorers Rome program, we organized two guided visits — on October 24 and 25 — transforming the viewing experience into a participatory and dialogical encounter.
An Interactive Visit Between Art and Reflection
During the first day, participants took part in an interactive route developed through three “reflection stations,” each focusing on a different aspect of solitude: presence within distance, emotional mechanisms of control and dependence, and the possibility of transforming solitude into shared space.
Through open questions, moments of observation, and group dialogue, the visit became a space of exchange between artworks and viewers, between personal experiences and artistic expression.
A Private Visit to Close the Circle
The second meeting, held on October 25, took the form of a private visit.
This format encouraged direct dialogue and thoughtful engagement with the works and ideas of the exhibition, offering a meaningful opportunity to explore how art can translate and reshape the experience of contemporary solitude.
Acknowledgments
We wish to express our gratitude to the Anna Marra Gallery for their collaboration and warm welcome, and to all the participants whose sensitivity, curiosity, and reflections brought this experience to life.
Through initiatives like this, Cultural Explorers Rome continues to promote an experiential approach to art and culture — not just to observe, but to engage, reflect, and connect.
